Before I acquired the race ready 1991 Lumina and the race ready 2000 Monte Carlo, I had started buying items to build a 1999 Monte Carlo NASCAR. Originally I had planned to make a real race car in #4 Kodak yellow.
The first item I bought was a shell that came from a NASCAR theme restaurant that was located in Nashville. It is badly faded and needs to be painted and all of decals need to be replaced.

I researched and found the original decals.

I originally thought that the skin was mounted on a real chassis. It turned out I was wrong. The wheels were welded onto a metal frame.

So I had to buy a racing chassis. I found a brand new Roush Racing 1999 chassi and drove to Arizona to get it.

It came with the seat and a bunch of other parts.

Then I found rims and brand new slicks.

Next I searched for and found a brand new set of racing slicks.

Around that time I bought the race ready 1991 Lumina driven by Ernie Irvan, and ran out of money... After I purchased the Lumina I decided to make more of a street legal or semi street legal version of Bobby Hamiltons 2000 #4 Navy NASCAR.At least street legal enough to drive in a parade or two. This is a 1/24 model of the Navy car.

Several months later I was at it again and found some nice headers,

Holley Carburator,

and intake manifold.

Them I ran into the 1999 #4 Kodak Monte Carlo. Well that one filled my credit cards and set me back on my reconstruction. At that time I decided that since I had 2 yellow cars that I would finish the restoration in the only Kodak black car. The Advantix! This is a picture of the original car. I have not found a source for these decals yet.

Finally after almost four years, I have purchased an nice 350 SBC it was actually in a Suburban. I saved quite a bit of money over a standard new crate engine. I believe it will work just fine in my Advabtix car.

The motor is so complete that I no longer need some of the parts I have purchased and I will not have to buy a transmission!
The motor is a 350 Vortec GM Performance crate engine rated at 330 horsepower and it has only 12,000 miles on it.
The transmission is a 4 speed overdrive unit which came from a 1982 One Ton Chevy Van and has a "factory" Hurst Competition Plus shifter. The holly carb is rated at 570 CFM which means it is a rare one. Most Holley's for stock 350's are around 600 CFM!
So with a few more parts and help from a friend... we will be putting everything together and then it will be off the paint shop.
I will let you know how it turns out.
